Geocaching!

Geocaching is a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. People try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, ,using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online. We LOVE it!! Our first caching experience was this past Tuesday. We got on our bikes and headed out to two caches within a two mile radius of our house. I had forgotten how much the kids loved riding in the bike carriage! The first cache was really easy. It took us about 5 minutes to find it and most of that time was walking to the hiding location. Here it is hidden in a tree! Can you see it?

The second cache almost defeated us, but Mike found it on his last attempt. A note from a previous Cacher clued him in on where to look, "keep your head up". The location of this cache was really cool. It was located within an old cemetery and inside a really old wooden fort right along the woods. Really creepy if you went looking at night! Here are some pictures...

And here was it's hiding location. Can you see it?

The next night we introduced Boedy, Laura, Brooke and Bronx to caching. They too loved it! Well, I think Boedy would have liked it more if he had not stepped on a snake. Yikes!! I can't wait until we all go caching again. We are also planning on setting up our own cache! Stay tuned to find out when it's ready and maybe you can be the FTF (first to find)!!
